My First Guest Designer Spot with Getting Cricky!

My blog buddy, over at Leelee Card Design, is on the design team for K. Andrew Design at Getting Cricky.  I recently got some of her stamps and did a project with them and before I knew it, I was invited to be a guest designer for Getting Cricky that is showcased today!

Here are the two projects I did with included recipes.  They were super fun and I really did enjoy creating with her stamp sets. Head on over and check out her stamp line!

Rockin’ the Baby Chic!

I have a friend down from” Canada eh?” that is 20 weeks preggers and it is her first baby!  She is quite the fashionista and is one of those people who looks amazing ALL the time!  They don’t know the gender of the baby yet, but I wanted to get her something that I found useful when my little one’s were brand new bundles of joy.  I found a zebra print Swaddle Me, baby swaddle with the velcro on it and used that as my inspiration for her quickly made card.

Thanks for coming and sharing a piece of “not your traditional baby card” pie with me.

A Super Quick Gift!

Ever since I met Mary Kay, the founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, 15-years ago while in college, when waiting tables in Dallas, I fell in love with her and her products.  I have to admit I strayed from them many times due to not having a consistent Mary Kay consultant over the years.

When we bought our home 2.5 years ago, one of my neighbors was a top-selling Mary Kay consultant (car and everything) that knocked on my door with a “welcome to the neighborhood” sample kit.  I was so excited to have a sales consultant down at the end of the cul-de-sac.  Unfortunately, her and her hubby bought another home and moved 3 hours away, but since she has such huge client base in our area, she still maintains us all including making us these amazing salads that she brings to us when she comes up for pleasure and business.  She happen to be up visiting friends and delivering products this week so when she dropped off my products and those yummy salads, I wanted to give her something special that shows her my appreciation that she can use to add special touches to her business.

I just ordered some new stamps from K. Andrew that a blog buddy, Lee Lee’s Card Designs, just became a design team member for.  They are super cute and they worked well for my project.  Combined with my Cricut Cart- Forever Young and some cute paper I got from papertreyink.com, I had this project done in less than 45 minutes.

Thanks for sharing a piece of “getting a little girly in a quick way” pie to me.

Rockin’ the Plaster Chic!

My SIL broke her leg a couple of weeks ago and had to have surgery.  I happen to be seeing her over the Easter weekend, so I whipped out this little get well card for her.

I made the sentiment using an Office Word and printing it out on card stock.  I really wanted to make a “get well” card that was outside of the box. I saw this cool card, from Paper, Craft, Scissors, a lovely blog I follow  and that was the think tank inspiration for mine.

My Pink Stamper’s Blog Hop Challenge!

Last Friday was My Pink Stamper’s monthly blog hop!  It was showcasing two of my favorite stamp sets,Yummy-licious and Sweet Goodness while making a 3-D gift container for a holiday or special occasion.

Since I am still in the throes of Halloween party makin’ fun, I took a quick break and made a birthday gift for my neighbor’s birthday.  I first made her a wall hanging for her in-home salon and then I decorated a coordinating gift box for her favorite kind of cupcakes.   I actually used a quick go-to stamp technique that I learned from one of My Pink Stamper’s videos.

She loved it and it really touched her that I remembered her birthday. She is a mother of 6 children, works out of home doing hair,  a fireman’s wife and has  been heavily involved with the care for her father who has Parkinson’s, so she has been spread pretty thin and it was nice to do something fun that was all about her for just a moment.

Doing this project made me think about how amazing God made women to be.  He knew what He was doing and what to give us to be well equipped to be the “caregiver” in the role of society and the “heartbeat” in the role of family.

Thanks for coming and having a piece of “cheers to all those  that are caregivers and heartbeats” pie with me!
