Hi everyone! Today is just going to be a fun day and a more personal post! My sweet oldest daughter is F-I-V-E years old today! WOW does time fly! I remember the day we left the hospital, we had 3 days of wonderful nurse assistance thanks to her being a complete breech C-section delivery. I was freaking out that they were just letting us leave the hospital with this precious baby, no questions asked. I could barely walk and the hubs looked like a deer in headlights, we were quite the motley crew picture of new parenthood. I was terrified driving home and walking into the house and wondering what do I do next? I was a person that could not keep a plant alive so how in the world was I going to care for a baby! That feeling did not last long and I settled into motherhood like it was what I was suppose to do my whole life thanks to a great hubs, some great friends, and a wonderful pediatrician that all passed along great advise, tools and common sense to the whole baby situation. And believe it or not, I now can keep plants alive… kids do make you a better person all the way around!
Five years ago today, my little ray of sunshine made us a family and even though she looks just like the hubs, she is 100% my personality. She even loves to craft and knows what washi tape is! Love that kid!
For her birthday, we took her to Build-A-Bear Workshop along with her gaggle of sweet and very well behaved buddies. Since they don’t allow cupcakes or cake, I had a friend suggest Teddy Grahams! Brilliant idea. So I literally threw together these goodie bags using my Cricut Mini Monogram cart, Close To my Heart circle stamp, My Pink Stamper Bitty stamps, American Crafts paper, and washi tape! EASY PEASY!
Thanks for sharing a piece of “they grow up way too fast” pie with me!
Happy Birthday to your little girl! She’s very lucky to have a sweet and creative mama like you. And you always have a way with words. Best line ever “we were quite the motley crew picture of new parenthood.” Love those goodie bags…perfect!
Ha Sam! Thank you so much for your sweet comment! If you only saw us the day we left the hospital, total hot mess! 🙂
Teddy Grahams for a Build-a-Bear Party…HOW CUTE is that!!! Happy Birthday to your sweet girl! They grow so fast. I can’t believe my oldest just turned six! Now she’s really not a baby anymore:(
thanks Jaren! I just can’t believe how quickly time has gone! Weep, weep, sniff, sniff! 🙂
So cute. My youngest is turning one year old tomorrow.
thank you and Happy birthday to you too!
Awesome! Holly is so beautiful! We were the the same way with Jonas trying to figure out the car seat before leaving the hospital, sat in the back seat to bring him home in case something happened then walking in the door and thinking what the heck do we do now? You’re a great mom. 🙂
Thank you Holly! It is funny how NOT alone I am with this story. Wow motherhood is such a fun and amazing journey! Hugs!
Beautiful!!! Great treat bags too!!

Thank you Karon! It was nice to just celebrate such a gift today!
Such a fun day for your beautiful daughter! You are a mom that’s doing it right! I remember sobbing when we got home from the hospital Christmas Eve with our 1st…my husband left to get some stuff at the store, and I was left with this strange creature I didn’t have any idea what to do with. It’s amazing how we figure things out. Thanks for sharing your story! Have a great rest of the week!
Thank you Emily! A Christmas baby! How cool is that! It is amazing how mother nature kicks in and we figure it out! I know one day I will be talking my daughters off the ledge of baby doubt one day! 🙂 Hugs!
Your daughter is such a little beauty! They grow so fast, enjoy every minute!
