FCCB April Fool’s Cricut Crawl!

FCCB_DT_btn

Happy April Fools Day!  If you have just come from Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Crawl, you are in the right place!  Today’s theme is centered around jokes.  Since yesterday was the honorary day for Mr. Easter Bunny, I felt this Easter card I made was a good match.  Chocolate bunnies run rampant this time of year, so finding them missing appendages is not uncommon and this card drives that humors point on.  DSC_6167

All I did was pull out my trusty Create a Critter 2 and cut the bunny at 3 inches.  I then just trimmed one of the bunnies ears to look like a bite was taken out of it.  The jokes were just a Word font.  I inked the edges and used paper from Recollections designer paper. I added some twine from the Twinery, Candi and googly eyes.

Luck Day!

Happy Monday to you all!  I hope everyone is adjusting to the “spring forward” from yesterday! Thank goodness for coffee in my world!  Today over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, we are embracing the Luck of the Irish!   Be sure to head over and check out what my fellow fantabulous design team members have brewing over there, link up your own Luck of the Irish inspired project using at least ONE Cricut cut and join the party!

This little treat bag I made was super easy, yet will bring a smile to our mailman for an early St. Patty’s Day treat.  Each holiday I leave a little treat in the mailbox for him.  He has been faithfully delivering the mail in our cul-de-sac for 30 years and I just love doing a little something extra to let him know he is appreciated.

It was super easy to make, I all I did take a a treat bag from my stash I scored on Pick Your Plum, cut two shamrocks at 1.5 inches and 2 inches AND a horseshoe at 3.5 inches using Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge on card stock from Recollections.  I then used Glastique Finishing Glaze and Piccolo Pure Sparkle Gold Glitter from Globecraft and Piccolo on the horseshoe.  I set it aside to dry.  I stamped the shamrocks using gStudio mini type stamps with Close to My Heart Slate ink and inked the edges.

I then filled the bag with some goodies and then sealed shut using chevron washi tape.  I then wrapped twine from the Twinery around the bag and tied in a bow   Once the glitter was dry, I added some Pop Dots and the attached the shamrocks to the horseshoe

Super easy and fun to do!  Now head over and join the fun over at FCCB!

Thanks for sharing a piece of “keepin’ it lucky” pie with me!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #134 Boo Spectacular

Happy Monday everyone! It is almost BOO day and I have to say I have been having a blast making Halloween and Fall themed projects and love jumping at a chance to participate in anything that involves crafting those themes.  If that is you too, then does Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog have a treat for you!  The fantabulous Design Team has brewed you up some amazing creative potions that just can’t be missed! Head over, check it out, link up and join the Boo Spectacular party! Just be sure to make a project that has at least one Cricut cut and has black and orange in the project!

For this project I decided to make another yarn wreath using the colors black and orange.  The wreaths are super easy technically to make, just time consuming.  A great “couch potato” project. All you do is get a 12 inch foam wreath form Michale’s or Jo-Anns and being wrapping the wreath with yarn using colors and patterns of your desired choice.

Once the wreath was done, I began making my embellishments. Using Cricut Craft Room so I could manipulate the images, I began with the witch.  I used Mini Monsters page 41. I hid her face so I could use Peachy Keen Dolly Dumplings for her face. I cut her and all her layers at roughly 4 inches.  I used some pastels from Stampin’ Up for her cheeks and Gelly Rolls for her freckles and eyes.  I added some Glossy Accents to her eyes and shoes. I added some  polka dot orange ribbon and purple tulle around her hat and more polka dot orange ribbon and purple bling to her dress.

For the banner, I used the basic circle cut from Mini Monograms at 1 and 1.5 inches. I stamped each orange circle with Halloween sentiments from Close to My Heart, Perfect Fit Halloween stamp set using black in from Stampin’ UP. I embossed the black circles with Cuttlebug’s Spots and Dots folder. I threaded orange baker’s twine from Twinery and glued down with my ATG gun.  I finished the witch by nesting her using hot glue onto some sparkling black and purple tulle that I made into a flower and pinned into the foam wreath.

For the scaredy cat, using Paper Doll Dress Up page 49. Using Cricut Craft Room, I hid her face, cut her at roughly 4 inches and then distressed her with some white stamp ink.  I used Peachy Keen’s Everyday Character with white stamping ink from Close to My Heart. I used green Stickles for her eyes and black Glossy Accents for her nose.  I tied a 1/8 inch ribbon around her neck.

For the moon, I used Mini Monograms circle cut at 4.25 inches.  I embossed with Cuttlebugs Spots and Dots and dusted with Ranger Perfect Pearls Biscotti to add shimmer.

For the bat, I used Create a Critter 2 and cut it out at 2.75 inches and fastened a wire spring to the back of it and stuck the other end into the foam wreath securely.

I finished the wreath by adding a 2 inch orange and black bow for the wreath to hang from.

Now don’t forget to head over to FCCB and check out the spooky goodies and link up!

I Feel the Love Project

Hello everyone! I have been very behind in posting, but not without reason.  Last Sunday, while I was training for my ocean swim in the ocean, I had a kidney stone attack and have been passing them all week.  If anyone has ever had kidney stones, you will know it has been a challenging week and to come down with passing one while swimming 1/4 mile off shore, the shark risk was no longer a worry. And I am not kidding about the fact there was a true shark worry since there has been several sightings of hammer heads and great whites off the local coast thanks to a random colony of 300+ seals that took up residency on the “world’s safest beaches” of Carpinteria and Summerland.  I sadly admit I had to be pulled in by a support kayaker; not my most shinning moment.

So here I am finally getting back into the craft room, even though I am still not finished passing my stones to make a project for the I Feel the Love Project of making a Halloween card for the kids at Casa Pacifica.  As I mentioned in an earlier post this cause hits close to home and is close to my heart.  You still have time to participate in this awesome cause!  Deadline to link up is September 30th!

Thanks for sharing a piece of “swimmin’ with the sharks” pie with me!
