FCCB April Fool’s Cricut Crawl!

FCCB_DT_btn

Happy April Fools Day!  If you have just come from Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Crawl, you are in the right place!  Today’s theme is centered around jokes.  Since yesterday was the honorary day for Mr. Easter Bunny, I felt this Easter card I made was a good match.  Chocolate bunnies run rampant this time of year, so finding them missing appendages is not uncommon and this card drives that humors point on.  DSC_6167

All I did was pull out my trusty Create a Critter 2 and cut the bunny at 3 inches.  I then just trimmed one of the bunnies ears to look like a bite was taken out of it.  The jokes were just a Word font.  I inked the edges and used paper from Recollections designer paper. I added some twine from the Twinery, Candi and googly eyes.

It’s a Man’s World

Happy Monday all and Happy Fantabulous Cricut Challeng Blog Day!  I am still flying high from my very first CHA this past Saturday!  IT WAS AMAZING and I randomly met one of the FCCB’s fellow designers, Linda from The Tulip Collector!  I happened to meet up with some other designers while I was paling around CHA with my dear, sweet and super funny blog buddy, Holly from Ribbons and Glue (a former fabulous FCCB designer from last term) and Linda was in that mix of the fun and fabulous ladies!   Trust me there will be more on CHA later . . .MeandArin_zpsc85ac1b4

Now on to FCCB’s Challenge

Today we are kicking off this week’s challenge, “It’s a Man’s World”, is one that I found super fun to do since it is very much out of the box of my usual frills, bling and feminine touch!  It made room for me to put on my thinking cap and get really creative with a masculine touch.   All you need to do is make a man inspired project using at least ONE Cricut cut and LINK it up over on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.

What I decided to do is make a sign for a friend that is really into making and flying remote control airplanes. He even has a room in his house that is designated for model airplane building and I thought that this idea would be perfect for his airplane room.

I found the wood plaque at Michales and painted and distressed it a bit using three different craft paints.   Then using Cricut cuts from Father’s Day, I cut the badge and sentiment at 6 inches on vinyl.  Using transfer tape I placed it on the plaque.   The I cut the shadow feature of the plane from Stand Up and Salute at 3 inches.  For the finishing touch, I decided to continue to add to the vintage feel of this sign and embossed the boarder using Piccolo Vintage Silver Enamel Powder and Piccolo Enamel/Embossing Powder Adhesive.

I gave it him tonight when he came over for dinner and he love it!

Now be sure to pop over to FCCB and see all the other great inspirations that the design team has cookin’.  Be sure to LINK up so you are in the mix for our great giveaway!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog # 139 – Holiday Wishes

Happy Cyber Monday! Thank you for taking a moment out of your cyber shopping for those great holiday deals to join in the challenge fun over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!  In step with the holiday season officially in full swing as of midnight this past Thursday, the challenge is to make a  holiday card!  Make sure you use  at least one Cricut cut and head on over and see what the design team has in store for your inspiration and link up a fabulous holiday card yourself!

For this card, I really wanted to break into some amazing holiday designer paper by Authentique (Yuletide and Jolly) I happened upon at my local scrapbooking store. I cut the card down to 5.5×4.25 inch (it fits in an A2 envelope).  I then cut down the next layer by a quarter of an inch and used a Chomp-A-Dile 1/2 inch to round out the edges.  I inked the edges of both the base card and first layer with Close to My Heart- Topiary.

Using Storybook cartrige,  cut two rectangles at 3 and 2.75 inches. I again rounded out the corners with a Chomp-A-Dial and inked the edges. The sentiment was from My Pink Stamper- Christmas Wishes.  The ink was Close to My Heart– Holiday Red. I finished this sentiment tag with Pop Dots for layering and twisted the waxed twine around the top layer.

For the candy cane, I used Gingerbread cartridge and cut the first layer only at 3 inches. I cut it 3 times and then using Pop Dots, I layered each candy cane. Using the Crop-A-Dile, I punched two holes into the top layer and then added the poinsettia brads.  I then added waxed twine bow using a Glue Dot.

Thank you for stopping by and head on over to Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and link up an inspirational project! Thanks for sharing a piece of “getting into the Holiday Spirit” pie with me!

KABOOM! Fireworks Celebration! FCCB#118 Challenge and My 100th Post!

Happy Birthday Week America!  Today is the kick-off of a very big and exciting week around camp Pie!  First off, today is the first time participating in the FCCB (Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog) as a Design Team member and coincidently my 100th post! Secondly, this is the week we celebrate America’s birthday! What better way to start celebrating it, by making a project for this week’s challenge at FCCB!

This week’s challenge over at FCCB is making a project with a firework, sparkler, rocket, or anything that goes KABOOM! Follow me on over  and get to creating! I would love to see what you got cookn’ with your Cricut!

What I came up with was making personalized candy tossing pails for the kiddos that are doing the 4th of July Push and Pull’em Parade with us.  It is a parade where there are literally more people in the parade than watching it.  It is a time for 100’s of local families and friends to get together and deck out their scooters, strollers, bikes, wagons and whatever else they can get their hands on and just celebrate this great nation’s birthday!  It does dump into a HUGE street fair, which is TROUBLE for me…and the hubs wallet!

Picture from the position of “middle” of the 4th of July Push and Pull’em Parade… yeah it is the hot spot to be every July 4th!

I really like working with vinyl and I had a new stamp set to test out, so I was in heaven this past week in my craft studio.  Needless to say I was having a ton of fun whipping out 5 of these.

Hope you all have a wonderful and safe 4th!  Thanks for coming and sharing a piece of, “Happy Birthday America” pie with me.
