In Recovery Mode!

The holidays were a whirl wind!  I figured I logged about 40 hours in my craft room during the month of December!  That meant late, late nights after the kids went to bed.  Now I am in a bit of recovery mode from post holiday illnesses that took the family by storm and just getting my house back in order and us on a routine.

I did manage to sneak in to my craft room to make a couple of birthday cards and a Valentine banner.  This weekend I plan on finishing up my craft space and starting a huge project of making scrapbooks for all the moms in my daughter’s co-op preschool.  Just shoot me for being over ambitions now! 🙂

The banner was made out of felt and I picked up some ribbon and the heart string at Micheal’s

The card was made out of a new cart I just got called Life’s  a Party!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cart.  The paper was from “open stock” at Michael’s and I embossed it with circles and spots Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper, of course!

Thanks for coming and having a piece of “recovering” pie with me!

Monday’s Made It Myself Halloween Party Invites

Sorry I had to cover the address and contact info... my house can only hold so many people! 🙂

Over at You Had Me At Craft, she has a challenge every Monday called, Made It Myself Monday’s.  This weekend I have been working on invites for our Halloween Party.  This will be the first Halloween party I have thrown in our new house.   Anyone that knows me, knows that I love Halloween and the other house we sold was in a neighborhood where the surrounding community would bus in the kids…LITERALLY!  We would have close to 300-400 trick-or-treaters each Halloween.

This was sooooo up my alley, so I would spend the month decorating, make my big run to Costco for candy and on the big night, I would have an open house for close friends and family where I would make homemade mac and cheese or chili and pull out my COSTCO sized bags, a stool and sit at the door from 5:30-8:30 passing out candy non-stop.   It was so much fun!

Our new neighborhood does have its share of trick-or-treaters, but since we live on a cul-de-sac on a hill, we don’t get many of those little folks decked out as Tink or Spiderman.  So I am taking this in my own hands and throwing a party!

Thank you for coming and sharing a piece of “Made It Myself Monday” pie with me!

MPS- Card Donation/Service Project

My Pink Stamper just placed a call for card donations for an amazing cause.  Today while my little ones were sleeping I made a fun card to send along as well.  This card donation comes close to home since I have a friend that is my age and has a 2-year-old little girl and a 3-year-old little boy who was diagnosed with breast cancer so advanced it moved into her liver a few months ago. It was a miscarriage that brought the finding of her cancer.  The diagnosis is very grim, but she is one of the most amazing people I have ever met.  She was handed back-to-back heartbreak, yet she is fighting for her life in a manner  not many would think any person could.  The level of grace, self-sacrifice,  dignity and strength she has floors me and all those around her.   She has an amazing strength in the Lord and He is there delivering blessings of joy every day.  It is one of the most astonishing things I have ever seen.

I decided to do an Ice Cream theme since it brings smiles to everyone AND from my understanding, most that under go treatment have a fondness for the treat since it is a soothing blessing to an upset stomach and a mouth full of sores that goes with that process.

While making this card, I thought of my friend greatly and thought that there will be a woman receiving this very card that more than likely is just like my friend.  Those that battle breast cancer are the most amazing women I have ever met and I was honored to be able to participate in this service project.

Thank you for coming by and having a piece of more of the serious slice of life’s pie with me today.
