Congrats to a Musical Grad!

DSC_6657Happy Monday all!  I can’t believe we are already in May and all that the month of May brings!  Thankfully Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog’s challenge lines up with something I needed to scratch off my to-do list! Yay! It is a Graduation inspired project using at least ONE Cricut cut.

I busted out Everyday Pop-Up Cards and cut the cap at 4 inches.  I then headed over to the Silhouette store and found some musical notes and cut them out at 1 1/2 inches.  My nephew is graduating HS this month and he received the Louie Armstrong Jazz Award for all his accomplishments in music while he was at HS.  This kid can play anything he picks up.  Oh to have that talent!

I found some paper that had music terms from DCWV School Stack and followed the school colors for the cap using Papertreyink.com and DCWV Glitter Stack.  I finished the cap using twine from The Twinery and some CANDi for the tassel and sentiment form My Pink Stamper retired collection with Close to My Heart Slate ink. I hit the notes with gold Sickles!

For the envelope, I just added some of the DCWV paper cutting it down to fit as an insert and punching the top with a MS punch.  I scored the crease and used my ATG to have it stick inside the envelope!  I think it adds a more personal feel to the whole project!

Easy breezy lemon squeezy  yet it has a lot of personal touches.  Now head over and LINK up your Graduation project using at least ONE Cricut project!

A Valentine Sweet!

Happy Monday All!  I can’t believe it is almost Valentine’s Day!  Today over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog we are kicking off this week’s challenge with making Valentines!  You will want to get in on this so be sure to pop on over and check out all the sweet inspiration from the design team and link up a Valentine using at least one Cricut cut!

Here is what I cooked up for this week’s inspiration

This card was super quick and easy to make!  The card was a cut from Samantha Walker Designs found over at the Silhouette store!  I resized this card to be around 5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide.  I found this card fits nicely in one of the extra envelopes that I had left over from my Costco Christmas cards.  I decided to raid my scrap stash to make this card and thankfully I had enough of everything! I embossed the black card stock with the Christmas Trio Cuttlebug folder set.  I inked the boarder with Stampin Up Classic black.

For the candy dispenser I cut just one layer at 3 inches and modified it to fit an adhesive treat heart I found through Stampin’ Up.  I embossed the the dispenser with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.  Using CANDi embellishments, I glued two of the CANDi pieces together to make them 3-D and added them into the heart and constructed the candy dispenser onto the black card stock.  I love how this really looks like candy in a candy dispenser!

I added baker’s twine from the Twinery, stamped the sentiment from My Pink Stamper’s Happiest Moments stamp set and added more cute little CANDi to the heart!

On the inside of the card I added some white card stock that was inked with Close to My Heart Holiday Red.  I added washi tape from Queen and Co’s Valentine line and yes, MORE CANDi!

Now be sure you head over to FCCB and join in on the fun this week!

My Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge (April)

Hi everyone!  Outside of dealing with terrible allergies or maybe it is a cold this weekend, I was able to hop along on Friday with My Pink Stamper’s Pinkalicious Blog Hop.  The challenge gave me a kick-start on my Mother’s Day project, since it was to make something for Mother’s Day.  So that is what I did!

If you have not noticed, I have been on a kick of making paper flowers using strips of double-sided scrapbook paper.  So I scaled it down and incorporated it onto a card!

A Fun Congratulations Card

I have a dear new buddy that I call “BBB” (Best Blog Buddy) aka Lee Lee Cards Designs. We have formed a cyber friendship with crafting, the love for animals, being California girls,  and a sassy sense of humor being a common thread.  She just found out that she was accepted to be on her first design team for Getting Cricky starting this May.  I am super happy for her especially since she just started blogging her creations last September!

I made this card to send her for a congratulations (which I know she will see here before it gets to her via mailman). I used images from Best Friends Imagine cart, since that is one of her favorite Imagine carts!   Congrats BBB!

Thanks for coming and sharing a piece of “sharing in a crafty bloggin’ buddy’s success”.

Easter is on it’s Way!

This week was the last day of our co-op preschool before Spring Break, so  I took a small break from the scrapbooks I am making and whipped out these quick goodie bags to hand out to the kids, moms and staff.   They were super easy and took no more than an hour to make 45 of them.   I used my Imagine to make the paper and cut the base of the top of the package from the scalloped square image that comes with the machine and I used one of my new Imagine carts that came in for the pattern.  It was sooo easy to be cutting out the paper and the base meanwhile using my Cricut to cut out the small flower from Walk in my Garden all at the same time!  LOVE MULTITASKING!

Have a great weekend and thanks for coming and sharing a piece of “gettin’ stuff done in the craft studio” pie with me!
