Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #129 End of Summer

Happy Monday everyone!

Today we are having another fantastic challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.   The theme is bitter-sweet since I love summer and hate to see it slowly and I do mean slowly fade away (this weekend has been full of record-breaking heat here in Southern California with not much of a let-up for this week) but fall is nearing fast and that comes with so many wonderful things to look forward to as well.

Today’s inspiration came from me loving the beach and how it brings me such peace when I spend time there, especially at the end of the summer when the marine layer has lifted and the days and water are much warmer.  The chair was cut from Life’s a Beach.  I distressed it just using stamp ink, sponges, and little Q-tips to give it the “beach weathered” feel.

Now it is your turn to head on over to FCCB and link up your fantabulous project and get in the running for the goodies and being one of our Top Picks!

Thanks for sharing a piece of “life’s a beach” pie with me!

Recipe:

Ink: Close to My Heart – White Daisies and Chocolate

Ranger Perfect Pearls – Biscotti (used dry on layerd embossing to add a slight shimmer)

Burlap – Got at Jo-Anns

Stamp: My Pink Stamper – Christmas Wishes

Fantabulous Cricut Blog Challenge #124- Olympics (Sports Theme)

I have been off the crafty bloggin’ radar lately, but I have been far from off the craftin’ radar!  I have been logging quite a few hours in the ol’ craft studio working on various projects from my little one’s birthday party, a baby shower I made center pieces and a banner for and today’s fun project for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.

I am competing in a triathlon relay course at the end of September with two of the hub’s co-workers.  My responsiblity in the race is to swim 1 mile in the ocean.  Thankfully, I have done this triathlon in full about 11 years ago, so I am familiar with the swim course. That does not take away a bit of the pre-race jitters and worries of things that could go awry while in the water… Jaws and leg cramps! 🙂

I made this count down sign to remind me of my pending race and also to “Keep Calm and Swim On”.  I have been seeing these type of sayings all over Facebook and Pinterest and thought this would be a fun sport related project that meets cute trendy!  If you are wondering what the black square is, it is chalkboard vinyl I got through Expressionsvinyl.com.  LOVE THEM! Super reasonable in price and fun to work with.
