Nothing a Little Fairy Dust Can’t Fix

I have been wanting to share a more up close and personal view a fun project I made that is suited for any sweet little girl’s room.  I found a white wooden base at Michaels and with a little help from the magic maker of the Silhouette, I cut the sentiment on vinyl and the wand star on DCWV Glitter paper (which cut like butter including all the stitching holes along the border).

After I transferred the vinyl sentiment onto the white base, I painted it using purple spray paint.  As the paint was drying, I dusted the sign with fine glitter. I  allowed it to dry and then removed the vinyl, exposing the white undercoat of the wooden base.

To finish the wand, I ran Hemptique Bamboo Baker’s Twine (the best baker’s twine I have ever worked with!) through the wand and finished with a crinkle ribbon bow and gem. I added a paper straw as a base to the wand and added a few more gems to the corner of the sign.

This is probably one of my favorite projects I have made right now and I have a feeling I will be making a ton of these for all the little girls I know!

Thanks for sharing a piece of “fairy dust is just magical” pie with me.

I am a stay at home domestic engineer that has a love for my family, food, writing, crafting, photography and most of all a clean and orderly house. I feel I was born in the wrong era in many things and the only thing I would change if I was a "Donna Reed or June Cleaver" kind of mom is that I would still get to wear my sweats and Crocs while washing the windows.

  2. Super cute idea! Would this work for my big baby girl (25) haha! SHe is constantly trying to hire me to dust and clean her house for her…! I think its funny-now that she has her own home it matters, lol! Funny how that goes!
Your project is darling! I love the fun wand Arin and the stitching is awesome! Absolutely adorable!

  3. Oh my word!!! Can I put a huge one on my front door! No wait! The lawn! considering the amount of sanding sugar I find in strange places in my house I think this sign would be perfect!

  4. This is so, so, so, so cute! I think the fine sprinkle of glitter is the best touch!!! So pretty. That font you used is darling, too, is it one of the fonts sold in the Silhouette store or one you downloaded from somewhere?? I haven’t figured out that downloading fonts thing yet…..
