A Touch of Spring!

DTC-Designer

Hello and Happy First Day of Spring!  It feels like spring here all the time, so I am hardly bursting with enthusiasm like those of you that live in the north, mid-west , back east or across the pond are probably doing after your hard long winter!

If you came from Decorate to Celebrate, then you are in the right place.  It is our Easter Theme Party inspiration challenge where you you can link up some of your amazing Easter and spring decor!

I decided to make a sideboard or mantel decor using two wooden pedestal birdhouses, plastic eggs, washi tape, glitter and craft paint!  It was super easy to do and I gave me a chance to pull out the power tools again (even though you probably don’t need to truly use them, I just love having an excuse).

It was a super easy project to put together and since time has not been my friend and I wanted to have something different as my decor this year, I was thrilled that I was able to stick it to Father Time and get a project done that was cute and quick!

I just painted the birdhouses random spring colors and then glittered the edgings.  I literally lucked out that all the different washi tape actually fit perfectly across the roof!

For the egg garland, here is how I did it!  I used the same washi tape to coordinate with the birdhouses! And I got to drill holes on the tops of each end of the eggs!

  1. Oh my – this is so cute!! Once again you and your power tools knock it out of the park! You’re just lucky your husband lets you play with his (his power tools, that is). Anywhoo, before I digress further, just wanted to say this is a truly fab project & you are always my favorite crafty mama!

  5. Adorable as always, Arin!! Love that you pulled out the power tools to drill the eggs!! HAHAHA!! 🙂 I just bought The-Sweetheart a whole mess of new tools (they are hidden right in plain sight so he won’t find them — TRUE STORY — never sees what’s right in front of him!!) and I’m not sure I can wait until he gets them to start trying them out myself!! Maybe I’ll go pick up some eggs… 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing your inspiration!!
