A Birthday that “Bears” Celebrating!

DSC_5823[1]

Happy Monday all!  If you came over from Fantabulous Circut Challenge Blog‘s recent challenge, you are in the right place.  If you are just joining me, you need to head over to FCCB and check out the fun inspirations that the amazing design team has in cooked up.  This week’s theme is Fun with Puns.  All you need to do is make a project using at least ONE Cricut cut and have a fun pun to go along with your project theme!  I can’t wait to see what you got up your sleeves!

This week I decided to kill two birds with one stone and make my oldest daughter’s birthday invitations while keeping this challenge in mind.  We will be celebrating at Build -A – Bear Workshop this year, so I had to get my paws on the new Teddy Bear Parade Cricut Lite Cartridge!  Oh my did we have a hard time deciding what bear theme to use.  The soon-to-be birthday girl decided upon a cute ballerina bear!

For the sentiment tag, I pulled out my Silhouette and printer and put them both to work!  I created this by piecing different images from the stock images that come with the Studio software.  I came up with the pun on the fly and threw it all together pretty quickly. I inked the edges headed straight for my Circut to start on the cute little bears!

Using Cricut Craft Room, I designed the bears to be around 3 inches and built them from there.  I added some faux stitching, inked a bit around the edges and some cute bling flowers and called it a day!  Having to make many of these, is a bit timed consuming, but I had a great little helper!  The base paper I used was from American Crafts  Hip, Hip, Hooray! 6×6 paper stack I found at Target!  LOVE THIS PAPER!  I used the paper from the same stack for the tutu and shoes.  I added some bubblegum pink crinkle ribbon from Kristen Swain. These invites fit in an A2 envelope!
